Dr Basim Fleega German orthopaedic shoulder surgeon studied in Germany and the USA. He works as a shoulder surgeon in Germany for 36 years and from 1989 till the present, he’s the director of the GOC shoulder hospital in Bonn Germany. He is a pioneer and inventor of modern arthroscopic shoulder surgery with worldwide teaching activity mostly in Europe, North America, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He invented more than 70 methods of shoulder surgery techniques most of them published in the first ranking scientific journals of the world and has 21 German and international patents in the field of shoulder surgery as well as more than 170 scientific publications. He is the founder of the German shoulder society, the former official representative for Germany in the international shoulder society, evaluator for candidates to get the professor title in shoulder surgery in Johns Hopkins University USA and he was awarded as a world-leading shoulder surgeon from the IBC Cambridge UK. His arthroscopic operation techniques are the only in the world to treat rotator cuff tear, recurrent dislocation and fractures of the shoulder only using sutures without metals, screws, anchors or foreign bodies with excellent results in only one-day surgery. One of his inventions is the world best arthroscopic surgical knot, the Giant Knot, used mainly in orthopaedic, gynecologic and paediatric surgeries.
