Job Summary:
Screen and assess diet nutrition in details and help solve wards and patient problems
Responsibilities:
• Provides nutritional advice and expertise in all units of the hospital, including Catering.
• Liaises closely with the clinical nutrition department and the Nutrition Support Team(s)
• Assesses diet and nutrition in more detail than a basic screen.
• Provides dietetic advice tailored to individual patient’s needs.
• Tailors food to special dietary/nutritional needs
• Interprets dietary records and recalls.
• May help prescribe enteral feeds and supplements, liaising with doctors, nurses, and the nutrition support team
• Understands wards and patient problems in order to help solve them
• Liaises with clinical staff including ward nurses.
Qualification:
Bachelor of Home Economics or equivalent with Post Graduate degree in Clinical Nutrition plus 3 years professional experience.
